For backyard hen keepers

One tap, one egg. And finally you know what an egg really costs you.

Egg Song counts eggs with a single big button, adds up feed and bedding, reminds you about worming and coop cleaning, and remembers who still owes you for a dozen.

Eggs today: a big egg with today’s count – tap it for +1 – with −1, Undo last and this week below

Sounds familiar?

A coop runs on memory. Until it doesn’t.

  • Did I write down yesterday’s eggs?

A notebook in the kitchen works for a week. Logging has to take one second, or it stops.

  • Are our eggs actually cheaper?

Feed, bedding, vitamins, new pullets – nobody adds it all up against the eggs.

  • When did we last worm them?

Worming, red-mite checks and coop disinfection come round every few months – and slip by.

What it does

Everything about your flock, in one place

Built for muddy boots and cold fingers: big buttons, short forms, no clutter.

  • +1 egg

Tap the big egg for every egg you collect, with −1 and Undo last. On Android also a home-screen widget, and a “+1 egg” shortcut on the app icon.

  • Laying chart

Thirty days at a glance, with notes on the chart: moulting, a heat wave, short days, new hens.

  • Cost per egg

Feed bags, bedding and extras against the eggs laid in the same period – per egg and per dozen.

  • Flock and archive

Each hen with a photo, breed and age. Hens that pass away go to the archive – never deleted.

  • Care reminders

Vitamins, red-mite checks, worming and coop disinfection on their own intervals, with a done log and photos.

  • Egg sales log

Who took how many, at what price, paid or not – with a balance per neighbour.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do I need an account or the internet?

No. Everything is saved on your phone and works offline. There is no sign-up at all.

How is the cost per egg calculated?

All costs you entered in a period (feed, bedding, other) divided by the eggs logged in that same period. Pick a month, three months, a year or all time.

A hen died. Do I have to delete her?

No – mark her as gone, with the date and reason. She moves to the archive with her history, and you can restore her if it was a mistake.

Can I sell eggs to my neighbours?

The app keeps the log for you, but rules on selling eggs differ by country – in Poland even small sales need registration first. Check your local rules; the app shows a short note in About.
